movie theater tickets Avoid Fandango! What a crock of sh*t...
I figured I'd book my tickets the day prior for Star Wars: Episode II... Went to Fandango, easy enough to process my request... BUT once I got to the movie theater, the attendant swiped my c/c and said she did not see such a purchase with that card and kept asking me for the correct card.. THAT WAS THE CORRECT CARD, I kept telling her, and to make a long story a bit shorter, 15 minutes later and after many stares from other patrons, I finally got my tickets.. The manager took my word for it even though I also had a printed copy of my Fandango confirmation. Called Fandango 2 days later (yes, they're number is hidden on their site, but if you look hard enough you can find it) and was told by the customer service rep. who took my name and never even offered to refund their outrageous service fee! For a matinee movie, Fandango.com jacked my total movie cost over 20%.. Needless to say, go to the theater and buy your tickets in person.. Since you're going to stand in line anyhow using Fandango!

On the other hand, do go ahead and rent the movie Fandango if you've got a Sunday afternoon to kill.  It's pretty good!

I feel your pain......look what happened to me. 1. I bought the tickets to Star Wars II a week before it opens for the following sunday. The tickets SPECIFICALLY said (Digital Projection) 2. Myself and 4 others drove 1.5 hours to see it in digital. 3. I get there. The tickets come out of the machine and say (show cancelled). 4. The manager of the theater apologizes and gives me tickets to the next show. 5. I ask its still in digital right?? he says yea DTS and dolby digital surround - Its not in Digital Projection - even though that is what fandango sold me.....I am royally pissed. I even show him the confirmation page, he just shakes his head in disbelief - I have to go to the local bar and drink 3 rum and cokes to feel better. The people who came with me are also pissed. 6. I call fandango.com the following monday (today!!). The customer support person tries to explain that they don't have control over the kiosk at the movie and that it was the theater's fault for the cancelled tickets. 7. I tell her the theater fixed their problem. But that fandango is responsibile for the content on THEIR site and that they wasted 3 hours (going there and getting back) of 5 people's time to see it in digital. 8. I demand a complete refund _base_d on the fact that fandango.com sold me something different than what I received, and for 3 hours x 5 people's wasted weekend time (put a price on that!). 9 The customer rep says she will get back to me and says she will put in a request for a complete refund. At this point she (the customer rep) was obviously flustered due to my rising anger while talking on the phone, so I had to calm her down. She gave me a ticket number and said somebody will call me back.... more info to follow. BOTTOM LINE - DONT TRUST THE INFORMATION ON THE FANDANGO WEB SITE!!!!!!!!
