Rhinoceros? a well connected band.  I have some of their records.  My favorite was apricot brandy. That was the big hit.

Friends of Distinction? Grazing in the Grass (compare to the Herb Alpert version) Bzzzzt! Hugh Masekela version. The Friends of Distinction version had lyrics. Grazing in the grass is a gas, can you dig it baby? Masekela's version was instrumental

Friends of Distinction? Grazing in the Grass (compare to the Herb Alpert version) Bzzzzt! Hugh Masekela version. The Friends of Distinction version had lyrics. Grazing in the grass is a gas, can you dig it baby? Masekela's version was instrumental The comparison was made to a supposed Herb Alpert version - something that, AFAICT, does not exist.  Therefore I re-directed to the most probable version meant - the Hugh Masekela version. Harry Elston of The Friends Of Distinction wrote the lyrics to Grazing In The Grass for Philemon Hou's music.

David, I'm surprised you haven't trotted out Thunderclap Newman yet. I'm certain you and Peach both know their hit, though. cb Tom petty did a decent cover of it, and when I first heard the original I thought it was Pete Townshend. That's because it was. He played bass and sang backup. cb
