wrote in message that could figure the bestest system? Canton, or possibly Canton, or that guy Canton, or Canton, or someone anyways. You know... this bothers me. Where the hell is the n coming from? I'd imagine from the word Canteen . In the past, I've spelled Caton's name as Canton too. It's an automatic subconcious thing. Like my spelling Paladjin's name as Paladijin due to the word Paladin .

(LadyJack V.) scribbled: :F What is wrong with you guys? Are people not allowed to have personal :F taste any more? If someone here has last year's uberboxofficehit as :F their top pick, and someone else has Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Absolutely nothing. We're en_title_d to our own opinion as well, just as you said. Besides which, this was to be a greatest movie list as opposed to a favourite movie list or a best movie that is still retained in my short-term memory or I had tattooed on my left thigh list. Is someone stops to consider the implications and decides that Police Academy 3 , Battlefield Earth or Corky Romano is one of the greatest films ever made, so be it. They should be commended (or shot). Personally, I think a favourites list is MUCH more fun, as most of the films that I enjoy are not necessarily in the same universe as great. Changing the list to a favourites list would allow for many prerequisites that should exist to be dropped, and ANYTHING would be fair game. For example, The Rocky Horror Picture Show , a film (or more apropos, experience) near and dear to many hearts, is a really bad film. But, it's also, understandably, on many peoples favourites list. Yes, greatest, favourites, smavourites - it's all subjective, and perhaps cannot be argued... but [insert one of a million fantastic statements here]. :F what the hell is wrong with that?? That's what's RIGHT with America :F (and its film industry), man! There's something out there for :F everyone! This is NOT what's right with the American film industry. It is terrible. Most good films produced in America (of which there are very few), are created OUTSIDE the American film industry. There are a plethora of people in Hollywood that are paid more money than you and I will ever see who's job de_script_ion includes ruining films... and they never get blamed! It's a fact and there are many books on how the system can take a diamond and reverse-Superman it into a lump of coal. Besides Besides Besides which, who knows what Americans REALLY like? I mean, as a whole, society has been force-fed all manner of tripe (via marketing and are education system) and dumbed down to a point where many can't even spell their own name or relay a complete sentence. And some of these people (such as select rappers make more money than most people) are rewarded for their ignorance (so to type). It's a lark... and it's sickening. I really care - and love the concept behind the United State... but like marriage, it can travel down any old road, and has. I feel terrible that I've oft thought how nice it would be to live in select other countries. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY, BABY. :F Jack I don't think they'll like my list at all, but if it's got songs :F that stick in my head and cause me to go 'round singing 'em for weeks :F on end, I like it V. Read your first paragraph, take aim and shoot. *** Break free from the hesitation that has become your easy chair. Lo Fi way out.

The responses to this message (and the original) illustrate, in part, what is wrong with movie making in America. The people who watch movies. Review the top 10 lists. Look at the movies on them. Laugh in wonder. Ooo! *Who's* a movie snob, then? What's in *your* top-ten, Mr. Smarty-Pants? 1950's personal hygiene movies? Overdubbed Japanese washing-machine instruction videos?

scribbled: :F Ooo! *Who's* a movie snob, then? What's in *your* top-ten, Mr. :F Smarty-Pants? 1950's personal hygiene movies? Overdubbed Japanese :F washing-machine instruction videos? May be I am... Not through choice, but as a natural result of experience. If you happen to have any 1950's personal hygiene movies at your disposal, please do send them my way, as sight unseen, they will definitely be at the top of my list. As far as the overdubbed Japanese washine-machine instruction videos are concerned, I have yet to see one, but admit it does sound enticing. I prefer my foreign language films to be uncut, undubbed, with the original score, and without remixing. Good? Bad? I'm the one with the gun. My top ten films? Hard to type, really. Are we talking best films or favourite films? Even then, it would be difficult at best. I will list a few of my favourite films, categorized by stereotypical genre (Even this is difficult, as many films overlap genres), in the near future. Following is a quick partial (incomplete) list: ** Scary Army of Darkness Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn Exorcist, The Haunting, The (1963) Night of the Living Dead Poltergeist Uzumaki Wild Zero ** Action Branded to Kill Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Die Hard Fight Club Great Escape, The Iron Monkey Killer, The Femme Nikita, La Magnificent Seven, The Nowhere to Hide Out of Sight Run Lola Run Seven Seven Samauri, The Shirii Sonatine ** Comedy Monty Python & the Holy Grail Naked Gun, The Princess Bride, The Shaolin Soccer ** Drama Fireworks Shall We Dance? ** Sci-Fi / Fantasy 2001: A Space Oddessy Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension, The Akira Big Trouble in Little China Blade Runner Dark City Day the Earth Stood Still, The Empire Strikes Back, The Flash Gordon Jason and the Argonauts King Kong Men in Black Seventh Seal, The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad, The Star Wars Tetsuo: The Iron Man Thing, The (1982) ** Musical Beauty and the Beast Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Little Mermaid, The Mary Poppins Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory This list could probably be easily truncated... and many additions could be added... notice the skimpy Drama section. Guess I forgot those... but these are just off the top of me rusty brainpan... and again, these are favourites, not best... Meorw... *** Break free from the hesitation that has become your easy chair. Lo Fi way out.

It was obvious that he was trying to suppress his angst and agony about whatever crisis occurred two issues ago and it added pathos and a sympathetic aspect. It's something that most people can identify with. And when Peter Parker is by himself, he cries. We've seen him cry. With facial _expression_ and everything. But MacGuire, ye gods, if tears weren't running down his face then I wouldn't know if he was happy that Uncle Ben was dead or what. Hmm, now that you mention it, that scene irked me a bit. MacGuire's tears looked like he had to summon them with mild peppers rubbed on his eyelids. He would have been better off with his head in his hands, sobbing. I wonder how they're going to work Gwen Stacy in now....
