50 greatest movies Poll. What are your favorite movies and why?
I would like to know what are your favorite movies and why.  You can remain anonymous. To assist you in recalling movies that you may have seen, at the bottom of this page is a list of movies that the American Film Institute chose as America's 100 Greatest Movies. You are welcome to pick and talk about foreign films aswell. Here are my favorite movies and why I chose them. 1.    SCHINDLER'S LIST (1993) This movie emphasizes the importance of the individual - whether its Oskar Schindler, the little girl in the red coat, or any of those other individuals who Schindler saves. If you save one person, you save the world. This movie is simply beautiful. When I watch this movie, I cry with tears of joy for the real Oskar Schindler and for the persons that he saves. 2.     2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY (1968) For someone who was never raised in any religion, this movie was a religious experience. For me, the mystery of the monolith was akin to the mystery of god. Eventhough I am an atheist, I can still appreciate the idea that there may be something greater than myself. Something behind my very existence. It also contains the themes of transformation and salvation. 3.     FORREST GUMP (1994) The life of a dumb but honorable man helps to put recent american history in perspective. 4.     THE SOUND OF MUSIC (1965) Beautiful and inspirational music.       Climb every mountain, forge every stream  ...
