Can anyone out there answer me this: Why is it that RHPS casts are so very prone to backstabbing, gossip, and hostile takeover attempts? It doesnt seem very well mannered to me, nor is it exactly adult behavior. In the old DDT days, we had to shoot down this kind of shit on a regular basis, and all it ever accomplished was to lower the standards of the show, cause us to lose audience when the stress factor became obvious, and ruin friendships. And I know its not just Denver. This happens all over the place. Im just curious to find out why, and what others have done to try to eliminate it. Bev

My personal theory on this is that folks involved in Rocky end up taking the show way to seriously.  Once it becomes the center of your life, as I have watched happen to a lot of people, then increasing your standing in Rocky increases your standing to the entire world that matters to you.  Then the dumb shit begins. That's pretty funny. Accurate, too. I'd say this type of behavior isn't necessarily a RH-only phenomenon. It seems to occur in all different kinds of fandom. Eric Bogosian has a great line in the movie Witch Hunt and since I don't have access to it I'll do my best to paraphrase: Put any ten people together in a room and they may not elect a leader, but I guarantee they'll all agree one person to hate.
