Ok, i had to think it over and get the full okay before postage his message to me....I can't say I'm totally crazy about his making the movie....it's to be about two people trapped in the WTC and not about the disaster itself..... I'm particularly not fond of the cover art poster he's got for the movie.... it's the Word S T A I R W E L L with the smoldering WTC towers as the two L's....real smooth huh?...but maybe some of you will see things differently than I do.... if you don't want to read his response to my question about where the money will go...then visit the site and you'll see what I mean....
WWW.PARIVISION.COM As for the amount of profits going to charity all of it will go to charity every penny we make off of this film will go to charity. I am looking into donatining all profits directly to The New York City Fire Department where I am sure they will see that it will be put to good use. We are not interested in giving to any other organizations because if we were we would not know what the money was being used for. We want to be very sure that the money that we make, if any will fall into the right hands. Unfortunately most people don't know that if you give money to a non for profit organization they can use that money for whatever they please it doesn't necessarrily have to go to the victim's families. So what we would do if we make any money is personally give it to one of the firehouses in the city of New York and let them give it to one of the families or some of the families who lost loved ones in this tragedy. On another note we have been getting some hate mail concerning this project. I find it odd that people are getting this upset about a film that they have no idea of what it is about. This film is about the extreme love between two friends one, who is a probationary firefighter ,the other a salesman and how their friendship is put to the test under very extreme circumstances. There will be no footage of the planes hitting the twin towers, no footage of the towers falling this is not a disaster film it is a dramatic film about friendship. I do hope if you choose to write about us that you go about it in a fair way. Some magazines and web sites have chosen to bash this project without even knowing the information that I have shared with you. The last film that I did that was similar to Stairwell was 800 which was about the 1996 TWA Flight 800 disaster. I felt it very important that a film be made about this incident because I truly believe that a Missile took down that plane. But even with the conspiracy plot that the film had the film also had a strong theme concerning friendships and relationships and how deeply affected people were after the tragedy and I believe we got that message across. At least to the few people who saw the film. It upsets me that most people will knock someones work and criticize them when they know very little about that person's work and that person. This country is in a very sad state when the people in it take the word of the press as fact and never question anything that they print. That a few speech makers can completely sweep them off their feet without truly finding out who the person is who is making that speech and whether his or her actions match that speech. Take Mayor Giulliani for instance. After the trade center disaster he is suddenly wearing a fire department hat and jacket and praising them left and right. But most people in the city are unaware that even after this disaster the Mayor turned down the fire department for a pay raise. Most people inthe City Of New York are probably also unaware that the Fire Department is the lowest paying city job and that the sanitation department makes more than the fire department. Would everyone still praise the great Mayor Giulliani if they knew this info? Probably not. But they just don't bother to look into anything they just take the word of the press as the ultimate truth when it is far from it. That is why I am greatly bothered that my film is not being given a fair chance because a couple of know nothing magazines wrote some bad things about it. Well thank you for your time in reading my letter and if you need to know more info please feel free to email me. THANK YOU JONATHAN M. PARISEN PARIVISION ENTERTAINMENT PRESIDENT
