I think this has already been posted about, but I'd just like to mention for those that missed it, that the Main Street Railroad station is under green tarps at the moment.  The reason is so they can hide the scaffolding.  The reason they have the scaffolding is because they are doing what I'm assuming is semi extensive work on the station, most likely they are sprucing it up for summer.  Although it is amusing seeing all those lights behind a green fence at night. It appears the I-5 southbound on and off ramps at Harbor Blvd. are scheduled to open June 3rd, when it does, the temporary on ramp at Ox Road should close.  On Katella, near KCML (the cast parking lot), they have nearly finished the major construction work, and in fact they have done the final asphalt paving for most of the area (in some places, there are three lanes open) and they are working on landscaping now.  The whole area looks really fantastic, even though it's not quite complete yet. Tarzan merchandise has now swung into Disneyland.  T-shirts featuring the characters, watches, a 'Jane costume' (hey, why do all the girls always get all the cool things like costumes anyway?), the movie soundtrack, various plush items (Young Terk, Sound Tantor, Kala with heartbeat, Young Tarzan, Baby Baboon, Clayton), concept art starting at $275 and going up to $2000, various Tarzan candy, and decorative items such as Tarzan snow globes and picture _frame_s (etc.).  You'll find these items in the Emporium, Adventureland Bazaar, Tropical Imports, 'it's a small world' Toy Shop, and merchandise is also available at stores at the two Disneyland hotels. Marie Osmond, (known for her singing abilities and doll designs) will be at Disneyland today, May 29, to sign her 'Marie Osmond Fine Porcelain Collector Dolls'.  She is scheduled to appear 1:30 to 4:30pm at Geppetto's Toys & Gifts shop, you can see her doll display or purchase some of her dolls until Sunday. Throwing paint away does not normally seem like a good idea, unless you are at Disneyland that is.  Many trash cans are getting a new paint job, I've mainly noticed newly painted cans in Fantasyland, but I've seen other cans backstage getting prepared for their coat of paint.  They've done a really good job with the cans so far, very detailed, it must have taken them the whole night to do the one trash can I saw.  Oh, I can't remember if I ever mentioned this before, but the ground in Frontierland has also [semi recently] gotten painted, although it's not as new now as when I first noticed it.  All the asphalt work they did now matches the rest of the area, they painted from Village Haus, down Big Thunder Trail, all the way to Riverbelle.  Also, the green benches in Frontierland are now brown benches, I can't recall when they did that, I just noticed it recently myself, looks good actually.  Also, Main Street is getting painted as well, as are many areas in the other lands. ODV itself is also preparing for the summer, a few of our carts are in for rehab right now getting extensive work done to spruce them up.  Our rose cart just returned, and it should have been in service tonight, a few other wagons are getting repairs as well.  One of ODV's managers just celebrated their birthday on May 28th, I just want to wish them (and they know who they are) a happy birthday, with many more to come. A quick side note, there will be no Early Entry for Friday, June 4, as there is a grad night prior to park opening that day.  Early entry for this next week (May 31 to June 5) will instead be offered Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.  Also, today (Sat), is a blackout day (I still like to call it that, so there) for Regular, Deluxe, and Main Gate passes, and Sunday is a blackout day for Regular and Main Gate passes. Rod Miller got a quick mention in the CM guide (with a picture too!) with this short but sweet saying Someone is almost always on hand to tickle the ivories on the snow white upright at Refreshment Corner . And to take a step back in time, I'd just like to mention that yesterday, May 28, 'it's a small world' celebrated it's 33rd birthday, it first opened in 1966, and has been delighting people of all ages since.  If you happen to be in the park this weekend, you might want to go on the attraction if for no other reason than to remind yourself how much Walt loved children. Remember, it was the last completed attraction he himself ever got to ride on, it was his favorite attraction at the time of his death.  Also, remember Disneyland Forever has new Small World tracks, (they have also changed the clock sounds track slightly as well), so if you are thinking about making a CD but have been putting it off, why not just make a Small World CD now, seeing how it's the anniversary of the attraction and all. Today May 29, (back in 1991 that is) Tokyo Disneyland welcomed its 100,000,000 guest. And finally in Disney history this week; June 1, 1933 was the day the Ingersoll Watch Company was saved from bankruptcy with the introduction of the first Mickey Mouse watch.  I just thought I'd pass an odd tidbit of information I found interesting that the CM guide had in it. But I saved the best news for last... for us CM's!  Finally, after 6 whole months have gone by, the new '99 Cast Parking Stickers are here!  Starting June 1st, all us CM's will be able to pick up our new '99 parking sticker after we fill out a 'Parking Sticker Information form'.  So, all you fellow Cast Members, be sure to check your CM reference guide for details.  It's taken them a long time to get around to it, but at least they didn't ignore it at all.  Maybe these ones will revert back to the older two year validation format.  But, unfortunately, this does not mean there will actually be any more parking spaces, we still have to circle around several times while a good portion of the lot sits unused behind a fence.  It will probably be another six months before they realize they need to re open that again to us, but hey, I'm just happy they are giving us a new pass! So that's the latest, (and oldest), happenings around the park.  We now return to our regularly scheduled um... discussions.
