Options screen =========== You get five options: Vsiual Mode - You get treated to a 3 minute long video clip from the show, then engage in a fight.  If you win, you see a 'death' video clip of the monster as from the show, but if you lose you get a continue screen.  Depending on the skill level you pick, you get from 3 to 9 continues.  If you're out of continues, you get a game over screen.  If you want to impress someone and show them what a REAL multimedia game is supposed to do, use this mode.   Be advised that probably due to space and time limitations, there are only 3 monsters you can battle in this mode- finish all three and you get a video clip montage of all the monsters you battled and a 'Game End' message. Battle Mode - You see a 1 minute background video, then you're asked if you want to use the VTOL strike jet.  If you say yes, you climb aboard a jet that flies toward the enemy. It's not a flight simulator though, all you do is move a crosshair around and try to hit the button as the crosshair goes over target spots picked by the computer.  The first couple of times it's impressive, eventually you'll only do it just so you can get an edge- any damage you do to monsters in VTOL mode carries over to the fight mode.  Then you fight as usual. However, if you lose the fight and continue, you and the monster will start with 'full' health so the VTOL damage becomes a moot point.  The first time you play with the VTOL it's quite unnerving- it's a true cockpit view and you feel like you're actually stuck in a little jet against a 30 story tall monster; the digitized approach to the monster is very smooth. My only nag is that you get two and only two passes at the monster- at the end of the second pass he smashes your jet, the jet goes into a spin, and you change into Ultraman. Vs Mode - Good if another person wants to play.  Lets you pick Ultraman vs. any monster and both p_layer_s fight one on one against each other; all fights are one round only.. at the end you get a Winner/Loser screen, and that's it.  You fight in an area determined by the monster you pick.  You MUST have two controllers to use the p_layer_ vs. p_layer_ option.. you can't select the 1p vs. 2p option if only one controller is attached. Config - Lets you pick the difficulty level, and preview the musical soundtracks. Data _base_ - All this does is let you run a slide show consisting of publicity stills from the TV show.  The stills are grouped into categories divided among the monsters and the WINR squad. There's about a hundred or so stills, so if you like the TV show, this is a nice feature. What's interesting is that you can zoom out the pictures, spin them around in 3-D, select how long each slide stays on, and even look at them in a sepia tone.  I honestly don't know why they put that last feature in.
