: I daresay Adam could not have mode a better move to catapult himself to instant fame/notoriety. WIth all the dozens and dozens of the most famous American musicians of every genre who were at the AMA show and who performed, Adam Lambert is the person whom every one is talking about today in their kitchens and living rooms, on every internet blog, on every single TV morning show and talk show... everywhere! I totally disagree with the premise that so many are putting forth that he is losing fans because of this performance. He might lost the fans who weren't *really* fans to begin with, but will gain many many more. Did Madonna and Cher lose fans and fade into oblivion when they gained instant notoriety with their raunchy, sexual stage performances of their music? Quite the contrary; they're the ones who have enjoyed decades of success while hundreds of others have come and gone. Because through controversy they made themselves stand out from the crowd and be instantly recognizable. Consider this quote from Oscar Wilde when he was in the midst of one of his many scandals: The only thing worse than being talked about ... is not being talked about.

ONE MORE TIME....NETWORK TV DOESN'T EQUAL CABLE TV. THE RULES ARE DIFFERENT! EVER HEARD OF THE FCC???? And BTW, back in the day, MTV WAS NOT A BASIC CABLE CHANNEL.

I recall seeing a rather racy Beyonce performance on one of the many awards programs in the past year. That would be Network TV. Hell, who was that guy who performed on Dancing With the Stars this season, can't recall his name, some rapper or hip hopper, singing about oral sex at 8:00 in the evening. Flo Rida on AI.  It's perfectly awful what he did to that song.
